Intensive Fields Conference 2009

The "Intensive Fields" conference was held in December 2009 and provided a discourse regarding the use of computation and parametric techniques as a means of addressing the design of large urban developments.

"For some time now, digital technologies have had a substantial impact on architectural design. From the use of standard drafting packages to the more experimental use of generative design tools. But how might these digital technologies – and parametric design tools in particular – help us to design cities?
The conference was organized around a series of forums. Main speakers, Manuel DeLanda, Roland Snooks, Marc Fornes, Casey Reas, Francois Roche and keynote speaker, Patrik Schumacher, presented their papers, and then were joined in debate by a range of other experts"
